NEW YORK, NY--(INTERNET WIRE)--Jun 3, 2002 -- Mohegan Sun todayannounced its preliminary musical lineup for Dare To Dream 2002 ... a Concert For Hope. This year's festival comprises a sensational roster of talent-featuring artists of many genres that span several generations. Hosted by Access Hollywood's Pat O'Brien and Nancy O'Dell, the Dare To Dream lineup features Sara Evans, Delbert McClinton, Uncle Kracker, Dave Mason & Friends (featuring Alice Cooper, Phoebe Snow and Gary Wright), Darren Hayes (formerly of Savage Garden), Eddie Money, Michelle Branch, Jars of Clay, George Wallace, Miss America Katie Harman and the World's Strongest Man, Denis Rogers. Additional artists will be added. Created in honor of the late Bert Zeldin, this year's event will be the fourth annual celebrity classic fundraiser supporting the Bendheim Cancer Center at Greenwich Hospital. This year, the foundation proudly expands with a new mission: Providing financial support directly to underprivileged cancer patients, who are unable to pay for available life-extending treatment. The Mohegan Sun Arena will host a two-day concert weekend entitled, Dare To Dream 2002 ... a Concert For Hope, featuring some of music's premiere musicians on Friday and Saturday, July 26th and 27th. The concert will be taped for a one-hour summer television special to air on several NBC stations September 8th. Legendary music producer, Elliot Mazer, will contribute to the concert production as music supervisor, while NBC veteran Frank Fernandez serves as executive producer. Award winning New York City post-production house, Slingshot Post, will be providing editing & graphic services. In addition to teaming up with Mohegan Sun for the weekend festival, the Bert Zeldin Foundation has also partnered with the Fox Hopyard Golf Club, a two-year-old, 7,000-yard, par 71 course in East Haddam, CT, for a private golf outing. Celebrity actors, athletes and musicians teeing off at the golf event include: Pat O'Brien, Nancy O'Dell, Jerry Orbach, Bruce Devlin, Joe Theisman, Rick Cerone, Randy Cross, Ernie Banks, Derek Sanderson, Rick Berry, Eric Flaime, Eddie Money and Alice Cooper. The festival also welcomes back the wildly popular celebrity auction on Saturday night prior to the concert where guests can bid on signed and rare memorabilia, such as autographed clothing, musical instruments and sports equipment. Zeldin Foundation is a non-profit organization created to benefit the Bendheim Cancer Center at Greenwich Hospital, an outpatient facility where Bert Zeldin received treatment for lung cancer.
