Darren Hayes

The only reason why women fall in love with me is fame and money, complains former singer of Savage Garden Darren Hayes, who's trying to break through as a solo artist after the split-up of the band. Australian pop duo Savage Garden sold over 20 million records in only few years, but phenomenal success came to a quick ending. One half of the band, hitmaster Daniel Jones broke down under the heavy pressure of fame last year and the group fell apart. Singer Darren Hayes is trying to go solo and complains that publicity and frequent traveling effected as a heavy bash to his lovelife. "It's easy to get money, hits and publicity but pure love and normal human relations are really scarce," says Hayes. "Women fall in love with me only because of the fame and money."

After getting famous, Jones and Hayes headed from Australia to New York and from there forward to west-coast to San Francisco. There they have their own studio and creational kitchen.

"My house is located at the beach where I can enjoy sunrise and sunsets. And on the top of everything I'm in love!" sighs Darren. "I miss my sweetheart, I think about her all the time. At home we enjoy each others company and we like to organize barbeque-parties."

Last year Savage Garden announced that they will take a break for unlimited time. "The band fell apart because of the fame and Daniel's shyness, explains Darren. "My passion is my mate and music, I will continue as a solo artist. Although Savage Garden had many hit-songs, I'm not missing the old times. Life has to go on even after the split-up. I can swear that Savage Garden will never be together again. The amount of money that could stump me up, isn't invented yet", he flaunts.

Long dark hair and elegant black clothes which were driving his female-fans crazy at the end of 90s, are displaced by blonde hair and more like sporty style. "I don't want to live in a grip of the memory of Savage Garden, and that's why I changed my style," justifies popstar. "I won't go to the tour before somewhere in autumn. Until then I have time to work on the show-program and my appearance."
